Annie Bones, State Compliance Specialist

Annie Bones is the State Compliance Specialist at Wine Institute, where she has been employed since 2005. Annie’s duties entail overseeing Wine Institute’s Wine Compliance Rules website, responding to member inquiries, and working with Wine Institute’s six State Relations Regional Counsel and Managers to address state legislation and regulatory issues affecting the wine industry outside of California.

Annie holds a B.A. from George Washington University.

Tyler Blackney, Director, Legislative & Regulatory Affairs

Tyler Blackney serves as the Director of Legislative and Regulatory Affairs for Wine Institute’s Sacramento office, a position he has held since November of 2016. In this role, Blackney advocates on behalf of Wine Institute’s members before the California State Legislature and key regulatory agencies.

At Wine Institute, Blackney handles issues relating to labor and employment, environment and water, recycling, privacy and technology, and more. He also adivises the association’s political activities to promote sound governance by supporting the election of wine-friendly candidates.

Blackney holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

Alex Koral, Regulatory Counsel, Sovos

Alex Koral works for Sovos as a Regulatory Counsel. He actively researches beverage alcohol regulations and market developments in order to help develop Sovos' ShipCompliant product and help educate the industry on compliance issues. Alex has worked with the company since 2015, after receiving his J.D from the University of Colorado Law School.
